More than 5 children
The initial stand-down period charts provided have only been assessed for a couple or sole parent with up to 5 dependent children. When a client has more than 5 dependent children to be taken into account, you will need to adjust the average income range in the assessment charts.
You need to select the particular family circumstance plus 5 children and add $80 per week onto the average income range for each additional dependent child to be taken into account.
Example
To find the initial stand-down period for a couple with 7 dependent children who have an average income of $2,170.15 per week.
Step 1. Select the initial stand-down assessment for a couple with 5 dependent children at 5 August 2026.
