Overseas study - regions and specified countries

For study starting on or after 1 January 2017, students studying at an overseas campus or delivery site of a New Zealand tertiary provider must be studying in a specified country, as listed below.

This requirement applies to both Student Allowances and Student Loans.

For Student Allowance purposes, the list of specified countries are set out in Schedule 3A, Student Allowances Regulations 1998.
