Introduction
The COVID-19 Resurgence Wage Subsidy Scheme was introduced from 21 August 2020 to 3 September 2020, to support employers impacted by the latest public health restrictions to stay connected to their employees.
The scheme was an addition to previous wage subsidies implemented in response to COVID-19.
Employers who got COVID-19 Wage Subsidy, Wage Subsidy Scheme Extension, or Leave Support Scheme payments could apply for the same employees if they meet the qualifications, but only once the period for the previous payment had ended.
Applications
Employers and self-employed people must apply online for the COVID-19 Resurgence Wage Subsidy Scheme through Work and Income.
Applications could be made from 21 August 2020 up to (and including) 3 September 2020. Payments were made as a lump sum to the employer and covered 2 weeks from the date of application.
Applications closed for the COVID-19 Resurgence Wage Subsidy Scheme at 11.59pm on 3 September 2020.
