Qualifying period

A client can get a Seasonal Work Assistance Payment if they have lost income due to poor weather conditions within 26 weeks of their benefit stopping because they had started seasonal horticultural work.

The 26 week period commences on:

• the effective date the benefit was either suspended or cancelled because the client had started seasonal horticultural work

Each time a client cancels or suspends their benefit to move into seasonal horticultural work, a new 26 week period begins, that is, when a client applies, count back to the most recent cancellation or suspension.
