Verbal requests for assistance
When a client contacts the Ministry and makes enquiries about financial assistance, that enquiry may be a request for information only or it may be a request for financial assistance.
If they are just requesting information, you should ask them whether they want to make an application now.
If they do, you must determine whether or not the client needs to make an application for a benefit or for assistance other than a benefit.
If they are applying for assistance other than a benefit then you must acknowledge their verbal request for assistance and record the relevant details in CMS.
If the client is applying for a benefit see: Application for benefit
