Example - calculating value of assets - beneficiaries
A single client applying for Accommodation Supplement has $9,000 worth of cash assets.
The asset limit for a single person is:
- $8,100
Use the following calculation:
Asset | $9,000 |
Less exemption | $8,100 |
Equals | $900 |
In this example the value of the cash assets exceed the asset limit for a single person. The client is not entitled to receive Accommodation Supplement.
Note the $9,000 cash asset must still be recorded in the INCMA screen.
