Dentures and hearing aids
If a client meets all qualifications, an Advance Payment of Benefit can be made for dentures and hearing aids.
Subsidies may be available from District Health Boards towards the cost of dentures and hearing aids. Before considering an Advance Payment of Benefit reduce the amount required to reflect any subsidy provided by the hospital or health agency.
Advance Payments of Benefit should not be approved for any services or item where ACC or a private insurer has paid part of the fees or charges unless there is an immediate need.
The cost of the consultation can be included in the cost, but as a guideline, an Advance Payment of Benefit for dentures or hearing aids should not be more than $1,000.
