Duration of benefit

In determining whether an Advance Payment of Benefit would best meet the immediate need of a client you must consider:

• whether the client is likely to continue to be in receipt of the benefit for the period over which the advance would be repayable

Consider whether the benefit is likely to continue for the period during which the advance would be recovered. Special consideration should be given to clients receiving short-term benefits such as Jobseeker Support Student Hardship.
