Laser therapy for the removal of birthmarks

If a client cannot receive a Special Needs Grant for laser therapy for the removal of birthmarks, and they meet all qualifications, they may be able to receive an Advance Payment of Benefit.

The need for removal of birthmarks must be immediate and essential.

If the client has been granted a Special Needs Grant for laser therapy for the removal of birthmarks, an Advance Payment of Benefit can be granted to 'top up' the payment if the client does not have exceptional circumstances to increase the maximum Special Needs Grant payable.

As a guideline, an Advance Payment of Benefit for laser therapy for removal of birthmarks should not be more than $200.
