Telephone installation

If a client meets all qualifications, an Advance Payment of Benefit may be made to assist with the cost of telephone installations, providing a telephone is essential for:

• the maintenance of the client's or their partner's, or their dependent child's health
• to access emergency assistance or
• because of geographical isolation, age or psychological condition of the client, client's partner or dependent child

As a guideline, an Advance Payment of Benefit for telephone installation should not be more than $200.

Note usually clients can make arrangements with the respective Telephone Company to pay the connection fee by instalments.
