Change of caregiver
When a client is no longer the principal caregiver payment must stop.
MSD should stop Away from Home Allowance from the first available date except when the client advises of the change more than 14 days after the event
Note if the client gives false or misleading information MSD must review Away from Home Allowance from the actual date of the change in circumstances and establish an overpayment where appropriate.
Care and protection concerns
If MSD believes any child has been, or is likely to be harmed (physically, emotionally or sexually), ill-treated, abused, neglected, deprived or MSD has concerns about the wellbeing of the child, the case must be referred to Oranga Tamariki.
