Hospitalisation

When a client (or a child that Away From Home Allowance is paid for) is admitted to any hospital payment can continue if it does not affect the client's qualification for Away From Home Allowance.

You will need to check factors such as:

• if the child continues to meet the definition of dependent child and the caregiver continues to be the principal caregiver
• is the client still able to receive family tax credit
• are accommodation costs continuing and
• whether the child has permanently stopped attending the course
