Main benefit clients dies - Terminal benefit

When a main benefit client dies who was paid Best Start tax credit for their dependent child the assessment of terminal benefit following the date of death does not include the Best Start tax credit or the family tax credit.

Any surviving partner’s on-going rate of payment (or appropriate benefit) should be reviewed for any change in obligations including paying Best Start tax credit and family tax credit to the surviving partner if they meet the qualifications.
