Payment from Ministry of Social Development or Inland Revenue
Main benefit clients can choose to have their Best Start tax credit and family tax credit paid by the Ministry of Social Development or Inland Revenue.
This would be more practical for clients who are expecting to receive a main benefit for only a short period of time. Best Start tax credit and family tax credit must be paid together by either the Ministry or Inland Revenue.
Foster care parents that receive a main benefit and have children of their own have their Best Start tax credit and family tax credit paid by Inland Revenue.
Note clients getting Young Parent Payment cannot choose to have their Best Start tax credit and family tax credits paid by Inland Revenue.
