Payment

Child Disability Allowance is a non-taxable allowance which is usually paid to the principal caregiver of the child.

If there is no principal caregiver, you can pay the Child Disability Allowance to the person who is responsible for the care and control of the child for the time being.

The principal caregiver is the person who has the permanent primary responsibility for the day-to-day care of the child, other than on a temporary basis. It does not include proprietors or employees of any childcare home or institution.
