Hours of attendance
Generally, the number of hours of Childcare Subsidy payable is the same as a child’s hours of attendance, up to a maximum of 50 per week.
The rate of Childcare Subsidy payable cannot be more than the fee charged.
Childcare Subsidy is not payable for hours of attendance if those hours are funded through another government programme except when Childcare Subsidy is being used for home-based educator top-up payments for the same hours that 20 Hours Early Childhood Education (ECE) is paid.
Example if a child gets 20 Hours ECE for centre-based childcare, they cannot get Childcare Subsidy for the same hours.
Exception
If a child gets 20 Hours ECE for childcare provided by a home-based educator they may be able to get Childcare Subsidy for the same hours if they are eligible.
