Client leaves the programme

Community Costs payment ends on:

  • the date the client's eligibility ends
  • the date the client's residential treatment programme ends or
  • the date the client leaves the programme

whichever is earliest.

When a client is receiving a main benefit and returns to live in the community, the case manager will need to reassess the client's eligibility for benefit assistance, and invite applications for Extra Help where applicable.

If the client has been resident in a treatment programme for six months or more, they may be eligible for a re-establishment grant.
