Short-term residential treatment programme
For the purposes of Community Costs Programme, a short-term residential treatment programme means a programme that provides alcohol or other drug treatment or treatment of any other medical or psychological disorders (including eating disorders), and is:
- of an intended duration of not more than 39 weeks and
- funded by the Ministry of Health under the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000 or certified under the Health and Disability Services (Safety) Act 2001
If the intended duration of a treatment programme is for more than 39 weeks then Community Costs is not payable as the programme does not meet this definition.
Note Community Costs Programme is not payable to clients in long-term residential disability care with an intellectual, physical, psychiatric, or sensory disability (or a combination of 2 or more such disabilities) to help them function independently.
