Commencement date

Family tax credit starts from the date the main benefit is granted if the client is not getting their family tax credit payments from Inland Revenue.

If the client is still getting their family tax credit paid by Inland Revenue but want to get it from the Ministry of Social Development instead, it will start from the beginning of the next full pay period after the benefit has been granted.

Family tax credit is paid with the main benefit.
