Income limit
A client and their partner (if any) cannot get an Accommodation Costs in Advance Grant if their income is more than the income limit.
There is one set of income limits for all clients including those getting a main benefit, New Zealand Superannuation or Veteran's Pension, and non-beneficiaries.
For New Zealand Superannuation and Veteran's Pension clients MSD should check their income is not over the income limit. New Zealand Superannuation or Veteran's Pension must be included as income when assessing if the client qualifies.
There is no discretion to grant an Accommodation Costs in Advance Grant to a client whose income (including the income of their partner, if any) is above the income limit.
