Special Needs Grant for food
Clients must have no cash assets when they apply for a Special Needs Grant for food.
Clients will not be eligible if they or their partner (if any) have any cash assets.
Bank overdraft
In most circumstances, a bank overdraft or credit facility is not considered a cash asset or resource available to a client.
However, a bank overdraft or credit facility is considered a cash asset or resource for a sole parent or couple with one or more dependent children who is applying for assistance during the initial stand-down and/or application process. These clients must have no cash assets and cannot obtain credit facilities.
