Maximum debt recovery rate

The recommended maximum recovery rate for clients currently getting income support is no more than $40 a week, unless the client volunteers to pay more.

Debt types included in this maximum recovery rate are:

  • Advance Payment of Benefit
  • Recoverable Assistance for Study Costs
  • Housing Support Products
  • Security Deposit Grants for emergency housing and transitional housing
  • Special Needs Grants and
  • overpayments of benefit

Client volunteers to pay more

If the client would like to pay more than $40.00 a week, they must put this in writing
