National Travel Assistance scheme

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora provides assistance for travel and accommodation costs for people who have been referred by their health or disability specialist (not a health practitioner) to a specialist, specialist health or a specialist disability service.

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora has certain criteria that must be met to qualify. In some cases, Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora may be able to prepay for travel costs when a client must travel and they do not have the means to pay for their costs.

• a hospital travel coordinator or

to enquire whether they qualify for National Travel Assistance.
