No longer entitled to payment

A client may receive a weekly payment until the date they:

  • receive a residence class visa
  • marry, enter into a civil union or a de facto relationship
  • reconcile with their previous partner or
  • leave New Zealand

whichever is earliest.

A residence class visa allows people to live in New Zealand indefinitely. The visa also lets people work and study in New Zealand. There are different travel conditions based on the type of residence class visa.
