Application process for medical alarm when client is not getting Disability Allowance
When a client is applying for Temporary Additional Support and has costs for a monitored medical alarm they are not getting Disability Allowance for, they should be told that generally the medical alarm can only be included as an allowable cost for Temporary Additional Support if their medical alarm is provided by an accredited medical alarm supplier.
A current list of MSD-accredited medical alarm companies should be sent with the Disability Allowance - Medical Alarm Assessment form issued to a client applying for the cost of a medical alarm to be included as an allowable cost for Temporary Additional Support.
It is important clients are aware of the service they can expect from an accredited medical alarm supplier.
