Body corporate fees
MSD must check whether the client qualifies for Accommodation Supplement.
If the client is entitled to an Accommodation Supplement this must be granted before assessing whether the client qualifies for Temporary Additional Support.
Body corporate fees may still be included in Temporary Additional Support if the client does not qualify for Accommodation Supplement.
Body corporate is a term generally used when referring to cross-leased or shared properties where one or more properties are sited on the same land. The body corporate is made up of the owners of a unit-titled property under the Unit Titles Act 2010.
This can include accommodation such as townhouse complexes, apartment blocks and flats. Each unit has a separate legal title and is individually owned.
These homeowners are usually required to pay a regular fee or levy to cover joint expenses for the whole property.
Note body corporate fees can be included as repairs and maintenance in the assessment of Temporary Additional Support.
Verification
The client must provide verification of their body corporate fees costs.
