Temporary Additional Support : Contents
Excess total costs
Excess total costs are the client’s income deficiency minus the upper limit of Temporary Additional Support. These excess costs are the client’s remaining deficiency that is not already covered by the upper limit.
Excess total costs form part of the formula when calculating a client’s disability exception amount.
Example
A single non-beneficiary who is 25 years old and qualifies for a disability exception amount has an income deficiency of $105 a week. Their excess total costs would be:
Deficiency | Upper limit | Excess total costs |
$105.00 | $83.55 | $21.45 |
