Qualifying benefit stops
As clients have an obligation to tell the Ministry of Social Development of any changes that may affect their entitlement to assistance and they are expected to do so within a reasonable period. Winter Energy Payment can only be paid if a qualifying benefit can be paid.
When a client advises of a change in circumstances after the event that would affect their entitlement to their qualifying benefit, Winter Energy Payment must be cancelled from the actual date of the change in circumstances and overpayment established when appropriate.
If a client gives false or misleading information, Winter Energy Payment must be reviewed from the actual date of the change in circumstances and an overpayment established when appropriate.
