Client and partner fail their social obligations
Where a client has a partner, the social obligations apply to the couple. This means that when a social obligation is not complied with the obligation failure is initiated on both the client and their partner's record.
If a client and partner are at different stages in the 24-month failure count they may have to complete different recompliance activities. This is because the client or partner may have failed other obligations such as work obligations in the past 24 months.
Example 1
Client | Partner | |
Current 24-month failure count | Obligations failure 1 | Obligations failure 2 |
Social obligations failure | Obligations failure 2 | Obligations failure 3 |
In this situation the client will have to recomply by complying with all their social obligations. The partner will have to recomply by completing a six-week approved activity or programme of activities which includes complying with all their social obligations in order to be granted a provisional benefit.. | ||
Example 2
Client | Partner | |
Current 24-month failure count | Obligations failure 2 | Obligations failure 1 |
Social obligations failure | Obligations failure 3 | Obligations failure 2 |
In this situation the client will have to recomply by complying with all their social obligations.
