Emergency Maintenance Allowance : Contents
Clients 16 and 17 years old
Living at home (or away from home by choice)
If the client is living at home (or living away from home by their own choice) the rate of Emergency Maintenance Allowance for 16 and 17 year old clients paid, is equivalent to the following rate:
- the rate paid to an 18 or 19 year old client
- living at home and
- who was granted benefit on or after 1 July 1998
Living away from home
If the client is living away from home because it is unreasonable for them to live at home, the rate of Emergency Maintenance Allowance for 16 and 17 year old clients paid, is equivalent to the rate of Young Parent Payment.
