Consequences of failing to meet conditions

You must ensure that the client is clear about the conditions of grant attached to their benefit and the consequences of failing to meet those conditions.

If a client has been assigned work obligations or youth activity obligations as a condition of grant, and the client fails to meet them without a good and sufficient reason, their benefit can be affected.

Generally for Emergency Maintenance Allowance clients this is an immediate reduction of the main benefit rate to 50%.
