Social obligations recompliance (13 week non-entitlement period)

If a client fails their obligations for a third time, their benefit is reduced or cancelled. For the client to increase their benefit they must undertake a 6 week recompliance activity or programme of activities and reapply for a benefit.

If the third obligation failure is a social obligation failure, the standard 6 week recompliance activities may not be appropriate as some clients do not have work obligations, and cannot work or be in training for a period of 6 weeks.

In this situation, a programme of short-term approved activities may be more appropriate for the client.
