Clients changing between annual and weekly income charging before 30 June 2026
Sole parent and grand-parented Jobseeker Support clients whose benefit commenced (or last commenced) before 1 July 2025 may move between annual and weekly income charging. At the point of change, a part year income assessment (due paid assessment) should be considered.
Note from 30 June 2026 all sole parent and grandparented Jobseeker Support clients will have moved to weekly income charging and if applicable, will have had their final Review of Annual Income.
Example
Sophie is a sole parent getting Jobseeker Support. Her last dependent child leaves her care on 18 August 2025. From 18 August 2025 Sophie's income is charged weekly. A part year income assessment (due paid assessment) should be considered to determine whether there are benefit arrears due to Sophie.
