Estimated income
Clients must advise MSD of any change in their circumstances that affects their entitlement or rate of Jobseeker Support, such as commencing employment.
If a client has one-off, fluctuating or casual income, it may be necessary to estimate their earnings to prevent a debt. When the client under or over estimates their income they should confirm the actual amount earned as soon as possible.
If the actual income is different to the estimated amount, it must be charged against Jobseeker Support for the week it was earned or the period that it represents.
This may result in arrears or a debt for the client.
