Home Detention
A client may be in prison for a short time before being released on home detention.
- Home detainees can apply for an exemption from their Work obligations
Period in prison less than 31 days
If the period in prison is less than 31 days the client can be transferred to Emergency Benefit from the date of release if they apply for a benefit immediately after their release.
Period in prison 31 days or more
If the period in prison is 31 days or more, an initial stand-down will be imposed.
Partner
When the partner of a person in prison has been receiving a benefit, this will be reviewed from the date of release.
