Parents aged under 20 years old
To receive Jobseeker Support with a dependent child included, a client must be aged 20 years or older.
When a client aged under 20 years applies to have a child included in their benefit, they no longer meet the age qualification for Jobseeker Support and must apply for Young Parent Payment.
Couple, both aged under 20 years old
When clients who are married, in a civil union or de facto relationship and who are both aged under 20 years, apply to have a child included in their benefit they no longer meet the age qualification for Jobseeker Support. Both clients must apply for Young Parent Payment in their own right.
