Partner made redundant

If the partner of a client currently receiving a benefit is made redundant, any redundancy payment received is not treated as income and there is no need to review the initial stand-down.

However, this redundancy payment may affect any supplementary benefit as it may increase the couple's cash assets.

Interest received

Also, any interest (before tax) paid on any lump sum received is treated as income and charged against the benefit.
