People in between employment agreements (with same employer)
Clients who have an employment agreement which does not include employment over the holiday period can qualify for Jobseeker Support because they only expect to return to that employment (for example Teacher Aides). The employment relationship has ceased for a period and they have no guarantee that they will return to that job. They still have to be:
- seeking other full-time employment
- available for it
- willing and able to undertake it and
- taking reasonable steps to find it
If these clients have been on benefit within the last 26 weeks you can look at waiving the stand-down, as the employment relationship has ceased.
