Abbeyfield houses

Abbeyfield is an incorporated, non-profit organisation that provides housing for older people.

An Abbeyfield house is styled as a large family home, where each of the eight to ten residents has a separate bedroom with ensuite facilities. A live-in housekeeper/cook prepares the main meals and cares generally for the residents.

A client living in an Abbeyfield house may receive the single living alone rate as long as they meet the definition of living alone and the Abbeyfield house meets the definition of a boarding house.

Abbeyfield residents may also receive an Accommodation Supplement provided they meet the usual criteria.
