Change of address
When a client advises that they have changed their address it is important to check that the move does not affect their entitlement to Sole Parent Support.
Note you will need to update the address in CMS.
If the client is receiving Extra help, this will need to be reviewed.
If the client has a portion of their benefit paid to Kāinga Ora or Te Puni Kokiri for accommodation costs this may need to be changed or cancelled.
Change in circumstances
The change of address may also indicate a change in the client's circumstances.
Examples of changes that may affect the client's entitlement to Sole Parent Support are:
- commencing employment
- commencing study or training
- moving to a remote area where there are few job opportunities
- change of relationship status
- dependent children coming into or leaving care
