Client receiving youth support payments

A young person who is receiving Young Parent Payment or Youth Payment when they reach the qualifying age for Sole Parent Support can only be granted that benefit if they have been receiving Young Parent Payment or Youth Payment for 6 months.

Young Parent Payment or Youth Payment was cancelled

Where a young person was previously receiving Young Parent Payment or Youth Payment and this was cancelled because, for example, they moved into employment or went overseas, and they now require financial assistance, the young person can be granted Sole Parent Support if they meet all the qualifications.
