Clients with a partner

Clients with a partner can apply for Supported Living Payment (caring for a person who is not their partner), however, there is no couple rate of benefit. The partner will need to qualify for a benefit in their own right or have some other form of income.

When you assess the rate of Supported Living Payment payable you must take the partners income into account.

Some carers may be getting Funded Family Care payments. These payments are income when assessing the rate of benefit payable.
