Diagnosis not available in existing assessment
Some types of existing assessments may not contain a diagnosis or the diagnosis might not be clear (for example, Group Special Education reports). In these cases, you can use other types of medical evidence to find the diagnosis. For example you may use:
- previous Child Disability Allowance assessment
- Disability Allowance medical assessment
- another type of existing assessment (for example, a specialist report)
- previous Work and Income medical certificates
Your client, their parent, guardian or agent may also be able to clarify some of the information that you have in the existing assessment.
If you are unsure about your client's diagnosis, refer to your Regional Health Advisor or Regional Disability Advisor [no link find out why] for advice.
