District Health Board assistance
When a District Health Board Needs Assessor approves Home Support Services to provide relief for a caregiver, it will not affect benefit entitlement unless it means the caregiver is no longer providing full-time care and attention at home.
A person with high needs (assessed as level 4 or 5 care by the District Health Board) may need additional support. This would not affect the full-time caregiver status of the client receiving Supported Living Payment.
When District Health Board assistance reduces the need for care to part-time it would not be appropriate to pay a Supported Living Payment.
Any queries from people about home support services should be referred to the District Health Board.
