Employment related compensation
A client can receive Supported Living Payment while ACC or an insurer decides whether earnings related compensation can be paid.
Supported Living Payment is granted on the condition that the benefit will be repaid out of earnings related compensation subsequently received for the same period.
When earnings related compensation is approved, Work and Income is reimbursed for the Supported Living Payment that we have paid to the client. We cannot ask for reimbursement of any supplementary assistance. Any debt that is established for supplementary assistance must be recovered directly from the client.
Do not grant Supported Living Payment if the client can receive earnings related compensation but it is stopped because they have not met their obligations with ACC or an insurer. The most common reason for this would be non-compliance with a rehabilitation programme.
