Supported Living Payment : Contents
Redirection for young partners
For young partners subject to youth money management the Supported Living Payment, family tax credit, Best Start tax credit, and any ongoing extra help must be redirected to pay for:
- the young person's accommodation and service costs, e.g. rent, board, power, phone
- the young person's lawful debts or other liabilities, for example Child Support payments, MSD debts
- food and groceries via a payment card
Payments that are not redirected
Disability Allowance, Child Disability Allowance, and Flexible Childcare Assistance can be paid directly to the young partner, their agent (if authorised) or a supplier (as appropriate).
If the young person qualifies for any of these payments, MSD will decide who the payment goes to after talking with the young person's youth service provider.
