Single sharing accommodation rate

Veteran's Pension single clients (or married or civil union clients who are considered single) get the single sharing accommodation rate if they are sharing their accommodation with:

• any person aged 18 years or over, other than a dependent child or
• a visitor who stays for more than 13 weeks in any 26 week period or
• they are living overseas and getting payment under a Reciprocal Agreement or the Portability provisions

Note the single sharing accommodation rate can be paid from the date the Veteran's Pension commences if the client meets the above criteria on the date their Veteran's Pension is granted.
