Cash assets limit

(1)

The cash assets of the applicant and their spouse or partner must not exceed-

(a)

the amount in clause 1 of Schedule 5 of the Act, if the applicant is not in a relationship and does not have dependent children; or

(b)

the amount in clause 2 of Schedule 5 of the Act, if the applicant is in a relationship or a sole parent with 1 or more dependent children.

(2)

An applicant who exceeds the limits in subclause (1) will still meet the universal entrance criteria if MSD is satisfied exceptional circumstances exist.
