Transitional provisions

22.1

If, under the Special Needs Grant Programme approved by the Minister on 8 January 1996 (the "Former Programme") a person had been assessed as eligible to receive special needs grants on a continuing basis for a specified period that ends after the commencement of this programme, and this programme contains provisions substantially corresponding with the provisions of the Former Programme under which that eligibility had been assessed,-

(a)

the chief executive may continue to make Grants under the corresponding provisions of this programme until the end of the specified period as if the person's eligibility for those Grants were assessed under this programme; and

(b)

the provisions of this programme apply to such Grants instead of the provisions of the Former Programme.
