Reapplying for social housing within 13 weeks of declining a property
After being removed from the register, if the client reapplies for social housing within the next 13 weeks, the decline or failure to accept a property offer may affect their eligibility for social housing.
Their decision to decline or fail to accept the property offer by not responding will be considered as a material factor when assessing whether they have a serious or severe housing need.
If they reapply within 13 weeks and their situation has changed, any material change in circumstances will also be considered.
Access to other financial assistance
A client who is immediately removed from the register for declining (or failing to accept) a property without a good and sufficient reason is still able to access other financial assistance such as extra help and Housing Support Products available to help people access housing in the private market (when they meet the eligibility criteria for assistance).
